Center for Thyroid and Endocrine Tumors

Tumors of the thyroid can expand into the adjacent cervical tissue and infect early cervical lymph nodes. Tumors of the pituitary and adrenal glands, in addition to their space-occupying effect on adjacent organs, can also lead to symptoms due to excessive hormone production. Due to this endocrine function, even small tumors can sometimes cause severe disease progression.
For a targeted diagnosis and successful treatment of affected patients an interdisciplinary team of endocrinologists, nuclear physicians, surgeons, oncologists and related disciplines is necessary. The sometimes rare diseases require special expertise. The center focuses on tumors of the thyroid and parathyroid glands and those of the adrenals.
